An Ice Cream Can Help Combat the Effects of Chemotherapy

Researchers at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) are working with the dairy company Fonterra to develop an ice cream that could be effective to combat chemotherapy side effects experienced by cancer patients.
This product, called ‘ReCharge’ active ingredients used in milk products to relieve diarrhea, anemia and poor appetite suffered by people undergoing chemotherapy.
In the tests carried out to verify its effectiveness, participants consumed 100 grams of ice per day, and the results have been so developers who are considering making it a “dessert doctor” may be prescribed by doctors.
As explained by Chief Technology Fonterra, Jeremy Hill, “the two milk bioactive components developed by ReCharge have the unique potential to assist the body to deal with the side effects of chemotherapy.”
