<p>Since 2006, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Foundation of the American College of Cardiology (ACCF) develop a guide with suggestions and recommendations for maintaining a healthy heart and strong for longer. This is done based on the results of scientific research that has recently come to light that show new ways to avoid or prevent heart problems.</p>
<p>The update of this guide, maintaining a healthy lifestyle that includes diet and care in an exercise routine at least five days a week, coupled with the use of appropriate medications (where necessary), can help people with heart disease live longer and avoid a heart attack or stroke (CVA).<span id="more-1361"></span></p>
<p>In following these recommendations, the person may also improve their quality of life, reduce the need to undergo surgical procedures to open blocked arteries and, in some cases, reduce the possibility of suffering a second heart attack or stroke.</p>
<p>For people who have had a heart problem, this is the first time that the specialists who make these recommendations add a comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation after an attack, stroke, bypass surgery (bypass) or when the patient was diagnosed with chest pain related to the heart (angina pectoris) or blockages in the arteries of the legs.</p>

<p>Previously it was believed that people with heart problems should not do physical effort because it was risky for the heart. However, several investigations that have been developed in recent years have shown how important it is to relocate the body in motion after a stroke or other heart-related problem.</p>
<p>For example, a recent study developed by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic found that people suffering from heart disease and participate in cardiac rehabilitation programs can improve their ability to return to re-establish a normal heart rate after exercise. This is important because patients who fail to recover heart rate (pulse) normal live longer than those whose hearts are still racing for longer.<span id="more-1357"></span></p>
<p>To reach these results, published in <em>Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association</em>, researchers examined 1,070 patients with various cardiovascular diseases who underwent cardiac rehabilitation at the Cleveland Clinic, USA. Cardiac rehabilitation includes exercise supervised by physicians, usually three times a week for 12 weeks, with a heating rate of 10 to 15 minutes, 30 to 50 minutes of continuous aerobic activity and cool 15 to 20 minutes.</p>
<p>Similarly, another study was done in Canada found that a cardiac rehabilitation program appeared to reduce some of the risk factors for a second stroke (CVA) among patients who had suffered a mild stroke or mini-strokes called transient ischemic attacks (AIT).</p>
<p>In this case, researchers at the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and Secondary Prevention Sciences Centre London Health in London, Ontario, looked at 80 of 100 patients who had suffered a stroke or TIA in the previous year and who completed a outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program of 7.5 months.</p>
<p>These results are consistent with the recommendations of the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Foundation of the American College of Cardiology (ACCF) drafted based on scientific research results that come out to see the light and allow new forms to avoid or prevent heart problems. With courage and patience, as you go looking at the good results you will see that the effort has not only worthwhile, but to give you more energy and make you feel better.</p>

<p>Blood pressure is simply the force of blood against artery walls. When the heart beats, it pumps and ejects the blood into the arteries, and then the blood pressure is at its highest level. This is known as systolic pressure. When the heart relaxes between beats, blood pressure decreases, and is called diastolic pressure. Normal blood pressure is 120/80 mm Hg (120 systolic and 80 diastolic), 140/90 mm Hg or higher is high, between 120 and 139 mm Hg systolic and 80 to 89 mm Hg diastolic , is considered pre-hypertension.</p>

<p>The study was conducted in 43 men and women who were around 60, who only suffered from hypertension or prehypertension. The researchers showed them some of the participants to take swimming lessons supervised 45 minutes, and others who learn relaxation exercises. For 12 weeks, the first took three or four classes per week until you reach 45 minutes per class swimming.</p>
<p>At baseline, the swimmers had a maximum average of 131 mm Hg. At study end, the value had dropped to 122 mm Hg, or nine points in systolic pressure, which did not occur with participants who had relaxation exercises.</p>
<p>The results were repeated when asked participants to portable monitors used to measure blood pressure for 24 hours. During this period, participants who swam maintained an average value in systolic 119 mm Hg (at baseline value was 128 mm Hg).</p>
<p>The study also used ultrasound examinations to determine the vascular dilatation due to changes in blood flow. Also in this test, swimmers performed better than others.</p>
<p>Although more studies are needed to determine whether lowering blood pressure is durable and if you reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke, the results coincide with the directions of specialists, who recommend that older adults do moderate exercise to maintain heart health.</p>
<p>And there&#8217;s more. Like floating in the water counteracts the body weight, swimming does not affect the knee joint and ankle. Of course you can not start a swimming program (or any other exercise) without first consulting your doctor. <p>We all want to at some point in life, lose weight. Unless you suffer from an eating disorder compels you to do otherwise. For whatever reason, you can ask most people and many would say that would be happy to get rid of the kilos or pounds.</p>

<p>5. Take your pantry the fattening food. Do not buy chips or ice cream, because the know they are at your fingertips you will fall into temptation. Instead of that, buy food and snacks (snacks) to satisfy your cravings healthy during the day.</p>
<p>6. Eat more foods containing fiber.</p>

<p>Nutritionists agree that this type of weight loss diets, work because apparently being low in calories, produce weight loss. But just make you look thinner is only temporary and can cause damage such as loss of muscle mass (muscle). Moreover, when the body fast to protect your health is &#8220;preserve&#8221; as much as can, which burns calories more slowly. That is, the promise that these diets speed up your metabolism is false.</p>
<p>Why? Because when you go back to eating normally, you gain your weight before and you can even upload more than kilos or pounds of you had before you lost the weight loss due to slow metabolism. Nature is very wise and gave the human body how to do it unless you have a medical condition that prevents it. <p>To create the new recommendations for oral (taken) for diabetes, inspectors observed data for each class group of drugs available (currently eleven classes, according to the Food and Drug Administration of the United States known as FDA) to assess how effective it was in reducing blood glucose (blood sugar), cholesterol and weight.</p>
<p>They found that metformin (which in the United States is sold under the brand name Glucophage or in combination with other drugs, Avandamet and Glucovance) was most effective in controlling glycemia long term. In addition, the drug appeared to be more effective in reducing bad cholesterol levels and more effective in preventing death from all causes, including heart disease.<span id="more-1338"></span></p>
<p>While ACP professionals recommend that patients change their lifestyle before you start taking metformin, this indication has sparked debate among scholars as some prefer to start early with drug treatment (because we all know how difficult it can be to change habits).</p>
<p>In conclusion, the ideal would be to change lifestyle to avoid developing type 2 diabetes if you already have, do not be discouraged. On the contrary, you are or not treated with metformin or any other medications, be sure to incorporate healthy foods and exercise routine weekly to help you fight diabetes, which can be silent and treacherous.</p>

<p>Type 2 diabetes is a condition that is characterized by high blood glucose (sugar) in the blood because the body (pancreas) does not produce enough insulin or have resistance to insulin that is produced (or is that cells do not respond well to it). Many people may have no symptoms, especially at first. However, if not kept under control, is slowly damaging other organs, such as the eyes, heart, blood circulation and kidney function and may even endanger the life of people .</p>

<p>When these habits are not enough, people with diabetes have a variety of medications to control, among which are the traditional insulin injections (which itself can cause hypoglycemia), sulfonylureas (Micronase ©, © Diabeta, Glynase ©; Glucotrol and Glucotrol XL © © and © Amaryl), inhibitors of alpha-glucosidase, the glitazones (Avandia and Actos © ©), meglitinides (Prandin and Starlix © ©) and metformin (Glucophage ©), which has recently become one of the preferred (and which also causes hypoglycemia).</p>
<p>Verified the effectiveness of TAK-875, this medicine is experimental for now could join the list of drugs to fight diabetes. Called TAK-875 is a tablet which has been designed to enhance insulin secretion in response to changes in the blood sugar level. According to the results, which were published in the online edition of the March 26 issue of The Lancet, all patients taking different doses of TAK-875 reduced their blood glucose (blood sugar).</p>
<p>While this was similar among those taking glimepiride, when considering hypoglycemic episodes, the number was similar among those taking TAK-875 and placebo and much lower than among those taking glimepiride.<br />
Although the researchers were optimistic with the results, yet more research is needed to define how this drug in diabetes and other rule which does not cause unwanted effects such as heart problems. Furthermore, it should be noted that the study was funded by the laboratory that is developing the TAK-857, which is Takeda Pharmaceutical.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, if you want to avoid the development of diabetes or keep it under control, remember that the most important thing you can do is in your hands: just change some eating behaviors (which does not mean you have to forget forever the dessert) and you must fight the sedentary lifestyle with some exercise daily. <p>Each time you read an article about diet or nutrition metabolism mentioned. But, you know exactly what it is? For it is the chemical reactions that occur in the cells of your body that transform or convert nutrients from food into energy you need to live, not just to move and think, but even at rest. Need energy for respiration, digestion, muscle mass manufacture, storage of fat, blood circulation &#8230;. The energy not used, is &#8220;saved&#8221; in the body as fat.</p>

And above all, stay active, exercise.
